PURPOSE:To obtain a fibrous shape retaining material useful as wadding for fibrous product such as Futon (thick bedquilt), having bulkiness, soft feeling, readily blendable against deformation, containing polyester short fibers having specific number of crimp wherein fibers are mutually made to retain a shape by entanglement and tangle of steric crimp. CONSTITUTION:The title fibrous shape retaining material which contains (A) >=20wt.% polyester short fibers having 20-55 peaks/25mm number of crimp and 5-50% hollow ratio and (B) 0-0.5wt.%, preferably 0.002-0.3wt.% TiO2, has high degree of freedom against deformation free from elimination of resin, etc., and is advantageous with respect to handling and cost. |
