The invention relates to a transducer for recording acoustic emission signals, which includes a casing shrouding a preamplifier connected electrically to a piezoelectric element having the shape of a cylinder and configured coaxially on a disc-shaped protector, as well as a damper element. According to the invention, it is furnished with a socket 3 mounted concentrically with respect to the piezoelectric element 5, in the base 2 of the casing 1, and assembled to the latter by threading, the protector 4 being arranged at the end of the socket 3, to the side of the outer surface of the base 2, the damper element 6 having the shape of a cup installed in the socket 3 and assembled to the latter by threading and hugging the piezoelectric element 5 in the region in which a means 8 of electrically coupling the piezoelectric element 5 to the preamplifier 7 is arranged. The invention applies in particular to the non-destructive testing of the quality of welds and of the integrity of a basic structural material. <IMAGE>
