The invention relates to a device for guarding the yarn motion in a textile machine during unwinding the yarn (P) from the bobbin (1). A sensor (7) of the device is assigned to a yarn guiding eye (3) for detecting the rotary motion of the yarn which unwinds from the bobbin in a balloon. Light emitting diode (71) and a phototransistor (72) can be used as a sensor.
