PURPOSE:To generate musical sound signals of various new kinds of timbre and to reduce the capacity of a storage means by selecting plural kinds of waveform information and coefficient information mutually independently and putting them together. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a waveform information means 7 stored with plural pieces of waveform information, a coefficient storage means 8 stored with plural kinds of coefficient information, pitch specifying means 1 and 2 which specify pitches, and a read signal generating means 3 which generates read signals corresponding to the pitches specified by the pitch specifying means 1 and 2. Further, the device is provided with a timbre specifying means 6 which generates a timbre signal specifying timbre by selecting pieces of waveform information and coefficient information stored in the waveform storage means 7 and coefficient storage means 8 mutually independently. Namely, plural different pieces of waveform information and coefficient information are selected independently and put together to compose waveform information and coefficient information on different kinds of timbre. Consequently, musical sound signals of plural new kinds of timbre can easily be generated by using a small-capacity memory. |
