PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an anisotropy rare earth permanent magnet having a high magnetic characteristic. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a rare earth permanent magnet which comprises at least three kinds of element containing at least rare earth elements RE (RE is 1-4 kinds of rare earth elements containing Y), TM (TM is 1-5 kinds of element selected out of Fe, Co, Ni, Al, Si, Ga, Ag, Au, Cu, V, Cr, Mn, Sc, Mo, W, Ti, Hf, Ta, Nb, Zr, Pd, Pt, Zn, Ge, Sb, SN and In, containing at least Fe), and B, and has a structure in which Fe metal or alloy containing Fe, or intermetallic compound is finely dispersed in an RE2 TM14 B phase as a main phase of the elements, a row material powder of intermetallic compound expressed by formula REm TMn (each of m, n is a positive integer, n/m>7.0 in atomic ratio) and B powder are mixed, pressed and thermally treated, thereby a main phase having magnetic anisotropy and the fine dispersed structure is obtained. |
