摘要 PURPOSE:To stabilize gradation expression capacity while making printing response speed higher than ink is naturally fed by feeding ink selectively and actively to the edge section of a surface acoustic wave propagation body, in which surface acoustic waves are excited, and regulating the quantity of ink supplied per one printing dot. CONSTITUTION:Surface acoustic waves 3 being propagated in a surface acoustic wave propagation body 1 collides with ink fed from an ink discharge guide path 48 at the terminal section of the surface acoustic wave propagation body. Printing is controlled according to the supply or non-supply of ink to the ink discharge guide path 48 at that time. That is, surface acoustic waves 3 and ink collide and ink is discharged as an ink mist column 10 when ink pressure in an ink fountain 46 is increased by deforming a bimorph piezoelectric body 45a to a pressed state and ink is introduced to the ink-discharge guide path 48 side, but no discharge is generated because the surface acoustic waves and ink do not collide when a bimorph piezoelectric body 45b is deformed to a decompressed state.
