PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately decide maximum transmission power when transmitting a signal from mobile radio equipment to a base station. SOLUTION: A controlling part 7 decides the transmission speed of a signal to be transmitted based on whether or not a terminal 13 for data communication is connected and determines maximum transmission power corresponding to the transmission speed. Also, the part 7 decides maximum transmission power based on information inputted by a user through a user interface 17. Further, an attenuation quantity calculating part calculates propagation attenuation quantity with a base station 30 and decides maximum transmission power corresponding to the propagation attenuation quantity. When an external antenna 10 is connected, maximum transmission power is decided by taking the gain difference between the gain of a main body attached antenna 3 and the gain of the antenna 10 into consideration.
