PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device whose maintainability is improved, cost is reduced with a simplified structure by automatically replacing the developer gradually, in the monochromatic image forming device, the full color image forming device of the tandem system, or the like. SOLUTION: In this developing device 1 for developing an electrostatic latent image by using two-component developer consisting of toner and carriers, a developer cartridge 5 is arranged adjacent to the developing device 1, the cartridge of which is provided with a space 5a (replenishing developer containing part) containing the toner and the carriers to be replenished to the developing device 1, and a space 5b (recovered developer containing part) containing the two-component developer discharged from the developing device 1, the replenishment of two-component developer from the replenishment developer containing part 5a of the developing cartridge 5 in the developing device 1 and the discharge of the two-component developer in the recovery developer containing part 5b is performed from the side surface or the lower surface of the developing device. |
