A tube holding apparatus for a tube cutoff die set including a cam driver and pair of vertically reciprocable shoes, the holding apparatus being characterized by a carriage mounted to one shoe, a coil spring and load plunger for biasing a pair of tube gripping jaw members laterally apart, a pair of cam followers each adapted to be engaged by the driver, one mounted on a pedestal integral with the carriage and the other mounted on a cam follower holder member, and an adjustment arrangement including an eccentric pin operably associated with at least one cam follower for adjusting the lateral spacing between the jaw holders. The members are in side-by-side relation and connected directly to the carriage by a gib for sliding movement.
