PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost by reducing the size and to enhance reliability at the time of stopping high voltage output by reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: The high voltage output unit comprises an oscillation circuit 1 comprising first through n-th high voltage generating circuits 2a, 2b,..., 2n each incorporating a converter transformer operating at a predetermined driving frequency and oscillating at a predetermined frequency equal to or higher than the maximum drive frequency of the converter transformers built in the first through n-th high voltage generating circuits 2a, 2b,..., 2n, a counter 3 for dividing the predetermined oscillating frequency of the oscillation circuit to produce the driving frequency of the converter transformer, and a sequence control circuit 4 for the output from the counter 3. |
