The proportional magnetic valve has a valve housing with a blind bore (11) containing a control sleeve (12) and a control piston (13), with a displacement sensor (25) allowing the position of the piston to be monitored. The displacement sensor uses at least one strain gauge (27) attached to a leaf spring (26) which is secured to the valve housing at one end (28) and which is deflected at its opposite end (31) in dependence on the position of the control piston. Pref. the fixed end of the spring blade can be adjusted in a direction transverse to its longitudinal axis, via a setting screw. ADVANTAGE - Low-cost valve allowing simple mfr. , small volume and fast measurement.
