The coupling has a first reinforcing rod mounted casing with an internal thread screwed into the casing. The head has an axially extending secondary clamp for engagement with a second reinforcing rod. The threaded depth of the spigot (7) in the casing (6) is limited by axially abutting deformable stops. The deformable stops can be formed on the rear side of the first reinforcing rod and-or the spigot.
