PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain self-discharge by arranging a potential variation absorbing layer containing a Ni compound between a positive electrode collector and a positive electrode active material layer. SOLUTION: A compound contained in a potential variation absorbing layer is expressed by NixOyHz, and specifically, Ni2O3H can be used for it. The compound has a flat discharge potential curve as an active material of a battery, and by arranging it between a positive electrode collector and a positive electrode active material layer, the drop of the potential of the positive electrode can be prevented even if the potential of the positive electrode active material is about to drop due to self-discharge because the NixOyHz layer having a stable potential is used. The following result is found regarding the potential variation absorbing layer actually made by using Ni2O3H. That is, when the average particle diameter of Ni2O3H is 10 μm or less, and the thickness of the potential variation absorbing layer is 50 μm or less, the characteristics of the battery are excellent. |
