PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict and correct fluctuation in the mixing ratio incident to variation in the partial characteristics of base ink only through calculation of a computer by utilizing the information of an original data base effectively. SOLUTION: At a spectral reflectance analyzing section 20, spectral reflectance is decomposed into components thereof, i.e., the spectral reflectance components of several kinds of dye, using multi-variate analysis. The spectral reflectance thus obtained is compared with the spectral reflectance of some dye in the candidate data base of that component and correspondence of each component to the spectral reflectance of dye is identified. Partial component of each identified dye component is then substituted with the component of other dye and the spectral reflectance is rearranged. Furthermore, a new mixing ratio for reproducing the original spectral reflectance accurately is determined by regulating the mixing ratio through optimization. |
