<p>A portable leveling vacuum tool (10) to align a substantially flat top surface (30) of a plurality of workpieces (28) in a coplanar orientation. The vacuum tool (10) includes a pair of parallel frame rails (12) spaced apart from each other to define an intermediate area therebetween. The frame rails (12) have substantially flat, coplanar bottom surfaces that define a planar reference surface (26) against which the top surfaces (30) of the workpieces are positioned. One or more vacuum cup assemblies (16) are movably mounted to the frame rails (12) using a support plate (18) adjustably movable along the length of the frame rails (12) to separably retain the frame rails (12) adjacent to one another and allow selective longitudinal positioning of the vacuum cup assemblies (16) along the frame rails (12). The vacuum cup assemblies (16) each have a vacuum cup (20) positioned in the intermediate area (14) and adapted to engage a top surface (30) of a workpiece (28) to hold the workpiece (28) against the reference surface (26). The vacuum cup (20) is movable in two directions relative to the support plate (18).</p> |
