A golf ball and a method of making a golf ball, having a cover and a core, wherein the golf ball has at least one layer formed of a compatibilized blend of about 4 percent to 95 percent of at least one ionomer resin; about 95 percent to 4 percent of at least one non-ionic polymer; and about 1 to 15 phr, based on 100 parts ionomer resin and non-ionic polymer, of at least one non-carboxylic acid compatibilizer of a functionalized block and graft polymers and oligomers wherein at least one portion of the non-carboxylic acid compatibilizer is miscible with at least one ionomer and at least one portion of the non-carboxylic acid compatibilizer is miscible with the at least one non-ionic polymer.
