PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket connector for IC cards capable of being readily automatically assembled by an automatic machine, holding a circuit substrate on the centerline of a housing of a surface mounting type same as on a double- sided board mounting type (clipping type), and being reduced in thickness, and to provide IC cards. SOLUTION: In this connector arranged in parallel with a plurality of connecting terminals 2, 3 projecting from a housing 1, the connecting terminals 2, 3 being mounted on a circuit substrate 5, a positioning member 1b or the like is placed between the housing 1 and the circuit substrate 5 to form a certain gap 4 on the projecting sides of the connecting terminals 2, 3 of the housing 1, when the housing 1 abuts on a terminal surface of the circuit substrate 5. The connector has a circuit substrate located at the center of a socket connector for IC cards, a frame enclosing the socket connector for IC cards and the circuit substrate, and upper and lower covers covering the circuit substrate, and a plurality of connecting terminals are mounted on only one surface of the circuit substrate. |
