PURPOSE: A method of processing a disconnection message of a delay equalization protocol on ISDN is provided to simplify the operation by considering the status centered on the message or primitive. CONSTITUTION: In a procedure processing a disconnection message, in step (600), a disconnection message is received. In step (610), the current status is checked whether the status is any one of the statues of the first disconnection request and second disconnection request. In step (620), if the status is neither of the statuses, a message accepting the disconnection is sent to the request. In step (630), all timers of the request are stopped. If the sender is the request(640), the disconnection timer of the sender is driven(650), and the status is transitioned into disconnection request 2. If the receiver is the request(640), the disconnection timer of the receiver is driven(660), and the status is transitioned into disconnection request 2.
