PURPOSE: A control period changing method changes gearshift step of a transmission to change the control period of an ABS(Anti Blocking System) to improve the control efficiency of the ABS. CONSTITUTION: A control period changing method comprises a control period input step, a control input period comparing step, a braking pressure control condition determination step and a transmission control step. The control input period comparing step is to compare inputted control period with minimum limit and maximum limit to determine whether the inputted control period is within standard range. The transmission control step is to downshift if the control period is shorter than the minimum limit and the brake control condition is of pressurizing control, to upshift if the control period is shorter than the minimum limit and the brake control condition is of depressurizing control, to upshift if the control period is longer than the maximum limit and the brake control condition is of pressurizing control and to downshift if the control period is longer than the maximum limit and the brake control condition is of depressurizing control.
