摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new DNA sequence which codes for decaprenyl-2- phosphate synthase, and is derived from a bacterium which belongs to family Rhizobiaceae, and allows efficient production of coenzyme Q10 which is used as a medicine and so on. SOLUTION: This is a new DNA sequence shown by the formula, or a base sequence prepared by deleting, substituting, adding, or inserting one or more base(s) from, in, to, or into the sequence which codes for decaprenyl-2-phosphate synthase, and is useful for efficiently producing, using a microorganism, coenzyme Q10 which is used as a medicine and so on. This DNA sequence is obtained by amplifying a chromosomal DNA derived from a bacterium which belongs to family Rhizobiaceae (e.g. Agrobacterium sp. strain KNK712) by PCR using primers consisting of its partial sequences based on homology to a known long- chain prenyl-2-phosphate synthase gene.
