PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to perform optimal recording by easily obtaining optimal positions of starting and ending parts of a mark by containing a recorder inherent information recording zone for recording information inherent to the recorder for recording the mark on an information recording medium in a data recording area of the medium. SOLUTION: Positional information on optimal or typical mark starting and ending parts at the time of disk manufacture is recorded in an area 1703, which is formed of rugged pit strings in the innermost periphery of the disk. In an area 1704 for trial recording, positional information on mark starting and ending parts, the data of the result decided by the trial recording, is recorded. In this case, information inherent to the recorder which has performed the trial recording is also recorded in an area 1705 together with the data of the result decided by the trial recording. Thus, the data of the result decided by the trial recording and the information inherent to the recorder which has performed the trial recording are recorded in the area 1705 as a pair. |
