PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the motion of an image in an image signal due to the shake of an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The output of an angular velocity sensor 13 is amplified by an AGC amplifier 15 at an arbitrary amplification factor, and it is converted into a motion vector-corresponding signal S2 by a correction part 103. The signal S2 and a motion vector signal S1 from a vector sensing circuit 7 are compared in a comparison and decision part 106. On the basis of its comparison result, the reliability of a motion vector is determined. When the reliability of the motion vector is obtained to a certain extent on the basis of its comparison result, a correction processing operation is executed to a memory control circuit 8. When the reliability is low, the processing operation of the circuit 8 is stopped. In an environment in which the imaging apparatus is shaken and by a control operation by a switch 14, the amplification factor of the AGC amplifier 15 is set by a gain control part 14 in such a way that the signal S2 agres with the signal S1.
