TRAFFIC FLOW PREDICTION AND CONTROL SYSTEM BY TRAFFIC FLOW SIMULATING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which predicts a traffic flow by using simulation and controls the traffic flow in most suitable manner. SOLUTION: Traffic flow information, inputted from a traffic flow sensor 10 installed on a road of actual traffic, is inputted to an actual traffic parameter estimating function 21 and a traffic obstruction section estimating mechanism 22 of an actual traffic flow parameter estimating mechanism 2 of the traffic flow prediction and control system 1 to determine optimal parameters for traffic flow simulation, which have been corrected with a traffic flow sensor signal and are stored in a traffic flow actual state database 3. Then a control mechanism 6 selects predetermined traffic control scenarios stored in a traffic control scenario database 51 of a traffic flow prediction and control mechanism 5 and a traffic flow prediction device 52 performs traffic flow prediction by traffic flow simulation with the optimal parameters for traffic flow simulation according to multiple traffic control scenarios. The result of each scenario is registered in a traffic flow prediction database 53, and a traffic control scenario evaluating mechanism 54 extracts the best traffic control scenario, from the traffic flow simulation results and provides traffic control information for drivers.
