摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for measuring the liquid crystal anchoring strength, which do not use a strong electric field method or the like, but use a strong magnetic field and have a transparent principle and do not require bias correction processing and take liquid crystal, having an arbitrary shape as the object to perform measurement by a magnetic field induction torque measurement. SOLUTION: When a magnetic field 7 is applied to a liquid crystal cell 1 in the system for measuring the liquid crystal anchoring strength, a torsion wire 5 is twisted by the magnetic field 7, and a mirror 6 attached to the torsion wire 5 is displaced by this twist, and the change of laser light from a laser 8, which is reflected by the mirror 6, is detected by a position detecting two-divided photodiode 9. That is, the output from the photodiode 9 is amplified by amplifiers 10 and 11. If their output voltages are denoted as VA and VB, magnetic field induction torque is proportional to the rotational angle of the mirror, and the rotational angle of the mirror is proportional to VA-VB; and thus the magnetic field induction torque can be obtained on the basis of the rotation angle of the mirror, and the liquid crystal anchoring strength is measured.
