摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for alkaline storage battery, capable of preventing an active material layer from peeling off, even if production efficiency is improved by setting a higher temperature for drying the electrode with an active material applied thereon. SOLUTION: Active material slurry 12a obtained by mixing active material powder, binder and solvent for the binder, is heated to a prescribed temperature in a slurry tank 20, and then applied to a conducive core body 11. By putting this into a drying furnace 28, heating it to dry the applied active material slurry 12a, and making it pass between a pair of rollers 29 to be rolled, the electrode for alkaline storage battery provided with the active material layer 12 on both sides of the conductive core body 11 is obtained. By drying the heated active material slurry 12a after applying it to the conductive core body 11, the movement of the binder in the active material slurry 12 is suppressed, thereby preventing decrease in amount of the binder contained in the active material layer 12 near the conductive core body 11 and improving the binding strength of the obtained electrode 10 for alkaline storage battery.
