PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal transmitter-receiver capable of avoiding the influence of a reflected return light generated due to a fault of an optical fiber. SOLUTION: A media converter a1 always transmits a signal with an INVA LID signal, and a media converter (b) always transmits a signal without an INVALID signal. The media converter a1, when the INVALID signal is not contained in the received optical signal, transmits this optical signal to a twisted pair cable side, and when the INVALID signal is contained in the received optical signal, determines the optical signal to be a reflected return signal and discard it. On the other hand, the media converter (b), when the INVALID signal is contained in the received optical signal, transmits this optical signal to the twisted pair cable side, and when the INVALID signal is not contained in the received optical signal, determines the optical signal to be a reflected return signal and discard it. |
