PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller for an image forming apparatus with which roller performance is stabilized and high-quality images free of density unevenness can be obtained and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The roller for the image forming apparatus has an arbor and at least one or more layers of polyurethane foam layers formed on the arbor, wherein the polyurethane foam layers are obtained by performing foaming mold within a metal mold coated with an an aqueous release agent on the inner side.
