PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a portable terminal which can input the character string of a password automatically determined when a user inputs the password. SOLUTION: A password authentication device is provided with; a means which inputs ordinary characters for a password and specific symbols automatically changed when they are inputted, when a password is set; and a means which generates a password corresponding to the specific symbol part when authenticating the password.
