PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high S/N ratios in a transmission wave and a reception wave, in an on-vehicle radar system for detecting a preceding vehicle traveling in front of a vehicle concerned as a detection object. SOLUTION: This radar system comprises a transmission part 101a for transmitting the transmission wave 109 a plurality of times within a prescribed time; a polarization part 105a provided to make each of a plurality of polarization faces different each other in angles keep a fixed angle with respect to an output direction of the transmission wave 109 from the transmission part 101a; a driving part 201 for switching the polarization faces existing in the output direction of the transmission wave 109, by moving at least one out of the transmission part 101a and the polarization part 105a relatively to the other; a reception part 110a for outputting a reception signal based on a reflected wave 111, when receiving the reflected wave 111 corresponding to the transmission wave 109 polarized by the polarization part 105a; and an integration part 117a for integrating the reflected wave 111 received by the reception part 110a in a polarization face unit.
