PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raster map retrieving device capable of easily retrieving and highlighting data stored in a raster map. SOLUTION: The raster map retrieving device comprises: a raster map storing section 101 for storing raster map information in advance; an area specifying means 111 for extracting the raster map information corresponding to a specified area; a raster layer creating means 121 for creating a raster layer; a vector conversion means 131 for extracting graphic data out of the raster map information to create vector data; a pattern data storing section 140 for storing pattern data in advance; a retrieval data specifying means 112 for specifying retrieval data; and a highlight display data creating means which, based on the vector data and pattern data and retrieval data, extracts the vector data corresponding to the retrieval data out of the vector data included in the raster map information and creates the vector layer for highlighting the vector data.
