PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag expanding device which accurately switches the expansion of an airbag when a child seat is placed on a front passenger seat. SOLUTION: The airbag expanding device comprises: a seat cushion anchor 37 provided at a seat S2 oppositely arranged with the airbag 2 and fixing a seat cushion 21 of the child seat 19; a seatback anchor 17 provided near the seat S2 and fixing the seatback 22 of the child seat; a lower part lock mechanisms 26, 25 provided at the child seat cushion 21 and capable of being coupled with the seat cushion anchor 37; an upper part lock mechanism 27 provided on the child seatback 22 and capable of being coupled with the seatback anchor 17; an attaching state judging portion 20 judging an attaching state of the child seat from a coupling state of each anchor and lock mechanism, and an airbag expansion control portion 5 controlling the expansion of the airbag 2 according to the attaching state of the child seat.
