摘要 An LCD and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to enable a comb-shaped transparent pixel electrode and a comb-shaped transparent common electrode to be placed to be opposite in parallel, thereby improving display quality by generating a horizontal direction electric field in a gate wiring direction. A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal layer, a reflecting unit and a transparent unit(T) in a pixel. The liquid crystal layer is held between a first and a second substrate. The first and the second substrate are placed oppositely to each other. The first substrate includes a comb-shaped transparent common electrode(92), a comb-shaped transparent pixel electrode(91), a reflective common electrode(66), and a reflective pixel electrode. The comb-shaped transparent common electrode is installed in the transparent unit. The comb-shaped transparent pixel electrode is placed to be parallel opposite to the transparent common electrode and generates a horizontal direction electric field between the transparent common electrode and the comb-shaped transparent pixel. The reflective common electrode is installed in the reflecting unit. The reflective pixel electrode is installed in the reflecting unit and is placed to be opposite to the reflective common electrode with an insulating film.
