PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction roll easy to machine/assemble, capable of effectively sucking a band-like sheet on an outer peripheral surface by an air suction source of small capacity and not becoming a cause of reduction of the clean degree of the periphery. SOLUTION: A large number of suction holes 5 are provided at suction areas B, B set so as to clamp an inner side of both edges of the band-like sheet S and a central part of a hollow cylinder 2 on an outer peripheral surface of the hollow cylinder 2 so as to be uniformly distributed respectively. A first bearing retaining ring 6 is close-fitted on a first inner peripheral surface 2a provided at depth of the suction area B of the hollow cylinder 2, and a first rolling bearing 7 is concentrically attached to the first bearing retaining ring 6. A distal end of a fixed support shaft 3 is fitted to an inner ring 7a of the first rolling bearing 7, and an inner cylinder body 10 fixed to the fixed support shaft and notched with a constant range of the outer peripheral surface is close-fitted to the second inner peripheral surface 2b so as to make it corresponding to the suction area B. An outer ring 11a of the second rolling bearing 11 attached to an outer peripheral surface near a rear end of the fixed support shaft 3 is retained by a second bearing retaining ring 12 attached to an end of the hollow cylinder 2.
