A method for washing clothes with steam of a washing machine is provided to reduce time for heating up water and to prevent damage of a washing machine by controlling a steam washing process according to water level. A method for washing clothes with steam of a washing machine comprises the steps: supplying water for a first standard water level(S10); washing clothes with steam for predetermined times by operating a washing heater(S20); detecting whether a steam washing process is finished or not and whether water level reaches to a second standard water level(S30); re-supplying water if the steam washing process is not finished yet and the water level reaches to a second standard water level, and re-progressing the steam washing process for predetermined times(S40). |
