PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle display device including a light shielding means for shielding light entering into a vehicle. SOLUTION: An on-vehicle display device is equipped with a light shielding means, a display means, an external light detection means for detecting illumination of external light entering into the display means, a storage means for storing a threshold of the illumination of the external light, an external light comparison means for comparing the illumination of the external light detected by the external light comparison means with a threshold of the illumination of the external light stored in the storage means and a control means for projecting the light shielding means by the external light comparison means when detecting that the illumination of the external light detected by the external light detection means exceeds the threshold of the illumination of the external light stored in the storage means.
