<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component supplying method which prevents the occurrence of a cycle time loss in a tray type component supplying device, and also to provide a component mounting apparatus for implementing the electronic component supplying method. <P>SOLUTION: The component mounting apparatus comprises the tray type component supplying device 130, a component holding device 155, and a controller 170. It is judged whether a preparation to supply components is finished in the tray type component supplying device and a preparation to hold a component in the component holding device is finished. On the basis of the judgement results, a component to be held by a component holder 140 of the component holding device from a plate 131 of the tray type component supplying device is determined. A phenomenon that the component holder has to wait to hold a component until the tray type component supplying device is ready to supply components is reduced as much as possible, resulting in shortening a production cycle time of a circuit board. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
