PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of obtaining an image of high quality by preventing stray light entering from a finder ocular part or unnecessary light entering from an imaging optical system and generated owing to inner surface reflection etc., from being guided to an imaging element.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises an imaging element (14), a finder optical system (110) which allows a photographer to observe a subject image, an optical path dividing member (112) which splits the subject image into luminous flux of the finder optical system (110) and luminous flux traveling toward the imaging element (14), a first light shield member (42) which shields the finder optical system (110) from light, and a second light shield member (12) which shields the imaging element (14) from light. When photography is instructed, the imaging element (14) is exposed after the finder optical system (110) is shielded from light by the first light shield member (42), and the imaging element (14) is shielded from light by the second light shield member (12) after a specific time determined according to photographic conditions passes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
