PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject product capable of providing a bright print having high fastness at a high density, especially such a yellow dyed product by using a disperse dye having a specific structure as a colorant. SOLUTION: This ink for ink jets comprises a colorant and a liquid medium for dissolving and/or dispersing the colorant. A disperse dye represented by formula I (X is Cl or Br; R is CH3 or C2 H5 ) or formula II (R is NO2 , CH3 or OCH3 ) is contained as the colorant in an amount of preferably 1-15wt.% based on the total amount of the ink. The liquid medium preferably consists essentially of water in an amount of preferably 40-90wt.% based on the total amount of the ink. When a water-soluble organic solvent is used in combination with water, effects can preferably more remarkably be manifested. Ethanol, etc., are preferred as the water-soluble organic solvent and the content thereof is preferably 5-40wt.% based on the total amount of the ink. The average particle diameter of the disperse dye dispersed in the ink is preferably 0.1-0.3μm. |
