PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject product, capable of making a printing head normally carry out the atomizing and providing sufficient image density without causing clogging in a printing head, etc., by compounding a dye with a glycerol and ethylene glycols as a wetting agent and a specific dye dissolvent. SOLUTION: This water-based ink for ink jets comprises (A) a dye, (B) glycerol and (C) an ethylene glycol ester type nonionic surfactant prepared by binding ethylene glycols represented by the formula HO(CH2 CH2 O)n H [(n) is 1-9] to a fluorinated carbon compound represented by the formula CF3 (CF2 )m COOH [(m) is 2-9]. Ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol are preferred as the ethylene glycols constituting the components C and D. Nonafluorovaleric acid, tridecafluoroheptylic acid and heptadecafluorononylic acid are preferred as the fluorinated carbon compound of the component D. The content of the component D in the ink is preferably 0.5-2wt.%. |
