PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant application device that can prevent the occurrence of unevenness in application of lubricant onto a surface of an image carrier, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A lubricant application device comprises: an application brush that is provided on the downstream side of a cleaning member that removes a toner remaining on a surface of a rotatable image carrier in a direction of rotation of the image carrier, and rotates in contact with a lubricant and the surface of the image carrier to apply the lubricant onto the surface of the image carrier; and an attachment removal brush that is in contact with the application brush to remove an attachment attached to the application brush from the image carrier. The attachment removal brush includes a plurality of bristle materials. The bristle materials each have a width in a direction of the rotational axis of the application brush.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
