PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifreeze/coolant compsn. which is excellent in preventing the corrosion of a metal, particularly aluminum casting or cast iron, in a cooling system and effective for inhibiting cavitation damage. SOLUTION: This antifreeze/coolant compsn. comprises a glycol compd. as a main component, 0.1 to 5.0wt.% at least one compd. selected from a 6-12C aliph. monobasic acid and salts thereof and 0.1 to 5.0wt.% at least one compd. selected from an alkoxybenzoic acid having a 1-5C alkoxy group and salts thereof. Pref., the compsn. further comprises 0.05 to 1.0wt.% triazole compd. and contains neither an amine salt and a salt of boric acid. |
