Separation of symbols in a spatially multiplexed signal stream is implemented by a process involving a small amount of computation, and in a more appropriate manner. A communication device 60 is provided with a distance calculation unit 61 and a signal point determination unit 62. The distance calculation unit 61 calculates the distance between a signal point candidate and a received signal point on the basis of a Manhattan distance between the signal point candidate and the received signal point in a complex plane, and the difference between a real axis direction distance and an imaginary axis direction distance between the signal point candidate and the received signal point in the complex plane. The signal point determination unit 62, on the basis of the distance calculated by the distance calculation unit 61, determines to which signal point candidate the received signal point corresponds. |
