1,018,422. Temperature responsive actuating elements. TEXAS INSTRUMENT Inc. May 29, 1962 [May 31, 1961], No. 20680/62. Heading G1D. [Also in Division H2] A snap-acting bimetallic disc 122 is connected conductively and securely, as by welding, to the light portion 100 of a U-shaped terminal member 90 and is disposed between the legs 96, 98, of the member by which the sub-assembly is mounted on a supporting base 70. An adjusting screw 132 acts as a stop and provides for calibration of the bimetallic disc 122. A manually resettable lever 140 has an insulating tongue portion 146 which is interposed between switch contacts 84, 126, when disc 122 snaps open the contacts, a U-shaped spring biasing the lever 140 towards this position (Figs. 5, 6, not shown). The omission of this spring and the lever 140 renders the switch 30 automatically resettable. The resetting mechanism is claimed in Specification 1,019,871. |
