A connector comprises a tubular member 10 provided with axially extending slots 12 and flanges 11, 18, formed by upsetting, which retain the connector in an aperture 17 formed in a base-plate 15 carrying printed circuitry 16 on one face. The flange 11 is in contact with an element of the printed circuit. The terminal lead 20 of a semi-conductor rectifier 24 is connected within the bore 21 of the connector to a phase winding 19 of a three-phase generator. To make the connection the bared end of winding 19 is located transversely in the slots 12 and the portions of connector 10 separated by the slots are crimped on to the lead 20 and winding 19. The connection is consolidated by dipping this end portion of the connector 10 into a solder bath 23 contained in a crucible 22. Alternatively, the printed circuitry may be disposed on the face of the base-plate adjacent flange 18 only, or on both faces of the base-plate.</p> |
