An indexing unit comprises a series of rollers 5 of equal diameter arranged in closely contacting non-rolling relation around the outer periphery of a cylinder 4, a dividing pin (Fig. 6, not shown) or worm gear 21, being arranged to co-operate with the grooves between adjacent rollers to effect indexing; the rollers 5 are held between flanges 8, 9 of the body 4 by means of a ring 11 shrunk on to the rollers, and a fixed radially disposed roller 14 of equal diameter is provided to prevent rolling movement of the rollers. The device is provided with a collet 6 and clamping nut 16 whereby it may be attached e.g. to the shaft of a rotary vertically adjustable work-table of a vertical pillar type drilling machine (Fig. 1, not shown). |
