A high-tension rectifier comprises a series chain of semi-conductor devices 4, such as diodes or thyristors, assembled so that each device 4 is mounted between two metal heat exchangers which provide the required capacitances associated with each device. The heat exchangers are arranged in partially overlapping fashion, each one having connected to the same major face thereof the cathode of one device and the anode of another device. Conducting plates 6, 7, 8 may be inserted into an insulating cylinder 5 on which the exchangers are mounted helically, so as to adjust these capacitances. Cooling fluid flows between the cylinder 5 and an outer metallic screen, adjusting the capacitance and resistance associated with each device 4. Fins 2, 2<SP>1</SP> on the exchangers are arranged interdigitally, and in an alternative form they extend in radial longitudinal planes passing through the axis of the cylinder 5. |
