Bottles (Fig. 2) are fed at 2 on to rotary conveyer 5, being held by devices 50 mounted on arms 6 and are progressed clockwise by rotation of the conveyer 5 whilst being turned by engagement with a plurality of stationary cams 4 till they are discharged at 3. Holding devices 50, Fig. 3.-Each device is formed by a pad 8a carried rotationally by arm 6 and resiliently influenced by spring 26; and by a pad 8b carried by bellcrank 13 pivoted at 14 on the neighbouring arm 6 and influenced by cam 18 via push member 16, whereby the pads are opened or closed to accept or release a bottle Washing bottles (Fig. 5).-During the turning movement of a bottle due to conveyance, the pad 8a turns with the bottle to connect channel 28 with channel 29 whereby nozzle 27 injects fluid into the bottle so as to wash, sterilize, rinse or fill it. |
