The web is directed around a web tension sensing roller 64 which controls the brake 35 and is then directed to an offset printing unit 15 including an impression cylinder 80 having a high friction sand blasted outer surface and a diameter twice the diameter of the blanket cylinder 90. The web is directed to have a sump of about 220 degrees around the impression cylinder and resilient adjustable rollers 95, Fig. 4, press the web against the impression cylinder to prevent relative slip therebetween. Thus the impression cylinder 80 serves as a means for metering the web through the machine. |
