PURPOSE:To generate musical sounds by a simple address designation while switching both a PCM system and a modulation system in real time by storing PCM waveform data and waveform data for modulation in a waveform memory at a sampling interval suitable for both the systems concerning the electronic musical instrument for which both the systems are mixed. CONSTITUTION:First of all, keying information is fetched, allocated to any sounding channel and supplied to a key code register part 5. Corresponding to this key code and a signal from a selection part 4 for selecting either the PCM system or the modulation system, the register part 5 outputs stepping width data to an address generation part 6. Then, the address generation part 6 outputs an address signal X proportional to the cumulative value of stepping widths corresponding to these pitch data and inputted to a modulation part 7 for modulating an address signal at the reading time of a memory part 9 when synthesizing musical sounds by the modulation system. When the PCM system is selected, a selecting circuit 8 supplies the address signal X to the memory part 9 and when the modulation system is selected, a modulated address signal X' is supplied. |
