Two tows, each with a total denier of from 600 to 16,500 dtex, are joined by clamping an overlapping portion of the tows so that that portion sags, and directing a jet of gas at the portion, a resonance chamber being located behind the tows. In described apparatus, two clamps for the overlapped tows are moved together when the gas is supplied to produce the necessary amount of sag. |
